Well we went back on Sunday and it was still there. THEN I noticed it was not just body + 18-55mm lens, but actually body + 18-55mm + 50-200mm! Body and two lenses for $500.
I practically ran to the ATM to get out the money. The guy who checked me out kept complimenting on my Japanese and gave me a guidebook on the camera in Japanese for "reading practice". He also said that as long as I could find the screw mount adapter for it, I could use my old Spotmatic lenses with it, but they didn't have any screw mount adapters in stock.
When we got home I messed around with settings, manual focus, auto focus, RAW, JPG, and a bunch of other things on it. My three deviations from yesterday are some of the results. It's going to take me a while to get used to looking through a viewfinder again, especially one that's not like that in my Spotmatic (I miss my little focus circle), but I'm excited to learn how to work with RAW.
Maybe I'll finally be able to do this idea dealing with vision/sight that I've had in my head for over a year. Just need a tripod now.

I love it here. It can be a pain in the ass to pick up the language (10 years of study and I'm still nowhere near fluent) but it's so worth the effort.
If you're in a big city like Tokyo or Osaka, you find a lot of people who speak English. Sadly, I'm not in a big city so there aren't many here who speak English fluently.
Thanks a bunch for your support! I really appreciate it
